Wet, wet, wet.

Lest you think from my recent posts that life here is all blue or cloudy sky beach walks - here is a post of the reality much of the time. See - I like taking photos when it's nice out - when it's wet it's not near as fun so I don't do it much. However, I made an exception on Nov 25 - deluge day - so we can all remember what it is REALLY like on the West Coast in winter. Wet, wet, wet.

Here we are in the midst of a rain and wind warning - our fourth here since we arrived - 100 - 200mm of rain forecasted. Do we really want to go out in this?

There was flooding on the highway to Tofino/Ucluelet and even flooding in Tofino. We didn't actually see it because we didn't bother going out. We had our own flood beside our site - thanking it was beside and not through.

Living in a 17' trailer means that you can't not go out during the day.
Plus - there is no bad weather right? Only bad gear! Better to follow Billy's advice although I can't say my raincoat is sexy!

The trail to the beach has never looked this wet!

One of the positives of going out in the rain is that the beach is quiet. Just us and the surfers!

I don't take a lot of pics in the rain cuz it's a bit of a hassle to get my phone out from a few layers down. Plus, I'm not very agile in our gloves. We got these a few years ago when we realized that you can have all the fancy raingear but if you are holding a leash you also need hand gear.

It was amazing to see how much the run off had carved into the sand. Usually very little of the rocks on the left are exposed.

Rufus with his beach find!

Returning home absolutely drenched! The view of the river going by our site.

At least we stay warm and cozy inside!
While November saw a lot of rain, thankfully December has been a bit drier.

Back in 2018 I see that we went bowling together as a family for the first time. Actually, for Cassia and I is was our first time bowling ever.

I'll just leave this here ..... I guess beginner's luck was on my side!

And 2019 in Texas we spent Christmas a Goliad State Park. We loved it!

The Wood Clan Christmas 2019.

Last year this time we were at Pacific Playground RV Resort with great weather. So much different than all the snow they have there right now.

We love the view on the east side of the Island looking across to the Coastal Mountains.

Where ever you are spending it .... we wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Teresa
