An odd title?! A bit of an exaggeration? Let's see......
Now, to be clear I don't think we've ever had a BAD beach walk whether we were here in BC, Oregon, California, Florida, Texas or Mexico.
However, sometimes things just line up just so - don't they? Our afternoon walk on Nov.15, 2021 had it all - a warmish temperature, a clear sky, a deep beach, and an indescribable smell (although thinking back I think it was the smell of food cooking!)
For us, it was the first time the tide was out so far at Cox Bay Beach.
Have you had such a line up of good things? Maybe not a beach - but a time and place that will always be imprinted on your mind? Thankfully we have quite a few from our A Life Made Simple trips - this is one for the West Coast Explorer days.
I always take a first pic as we get to the beach - it sort of sets my photo taking thinking in motion. Looking at the sun the photo makes it look darker than it is. It's about 4 pm here. I see from our photos that our entire walk took us an hour.
See - I turned to the right to take a pic of Cassia and it looks totally different.
It's perfect time to take photos with the sun shining on the rocks.
This area is usually filled with water! See what look like sticks standing on rocks to the far left? One of those turned out to be Derek. He'd gotten ahead of Cassia and I.
With the tide out so far it's a chance for us to get up close to the sea life. ♥
I'm glad my phone is able to take shots like this.
Nothing like standing and snooping around exposed rocks.
Every where we looked there were sea anemones.
We had to be careful to avoid stepping on them.
Sorry - I can't resist putting in all my anemone pics - they are so cool.
Just one more!
Of course the sun at this angle provided a great opportunity for a Wood Clan silhouette. Remember when Cassia was so small between us?
You might notice that Cassia is always up to 'striking a pose'.
We're losing our sun. By this time we've walked around to the Point via the boardwalk.
At the Point we get a good unobstructed view of the ocean - and setting sun.
Our Irish Lass.
(Well, Dutch too and some British etc.) It just seemed to be a place we could find in Ireland.
♥
Heading back to the beach now via the rocks. Climbing over the rocks.
Let's not forget the moon although not quite as photogenic.
Heading home. The last photo at just after 5 pm.
I'm not going to add photos from previous years to this post.
This was one of the best hours of my life thus far - I want to remember it this way.
Thanks for tuning in!
I looked ahead. Next blog post will be of our deluge pictures!
Teresa
What a beautiful place! The sunset pics are awesome! That picture of Cassia looking up at the camera just shows what a beautiful young woman she is and will be. Her eyes since she was little OH MY! Love your little family!
