As promised ... here begins a lot of beach pictures. We generally go for two walks on the beach per day - morning and afternoon just before dinner. Cox Bay Beach is popular with surfers - it's no surprise that our park is called Surf Grove - it definitely caters to the surfer crowd. Almost every day there are surfers - sometimes a few sometimes we can't figure out how they work around each other. In all cases - we are glad we are spectators rather than participators.
This years pics are from a month ago .... we are still far behind. Hopefully we can catch up by Christmas!
So - here it was we were up to in November.
A good way to start. It's not often I get such a fun action shot of Cassia.
Cassia likes to walk on rocks ....
and I like to explore them and take pics. It's a win win.
Derek and I spent the morning shopping Tofino. On our way out we stopped here because we stop for 'kelp'. Sadly, Naas wasn't open this day but we did catch up with them a few days later and got some smoked alder wood kelp flakes. Yummm....
Great looking wall across the parking lot.
The Tofino harbour.
Such a beautiful view from here.
We hit the beach for our afternoon walk on Nov 5th, 2021.
The rain isn't so hard to bear when you get days moments like this!
The yellow jackets are coming! Ha ha. At first we weren't sure what the deal was but realized that one of the hotels must be handing out raincoats. Or a store in Tofino had a sale!
The hotel at the end of the beach. One day we are going to stay here - the third one from the left.
Not sure how or when ....
Hi Derek.
A fairly common occurrence - you'd think we'd learn about how fast a wave can travel!
Also common - what we've come to call sea jelly.
Huskies pulling kelp - how we keep ourselves entertained.
By the way .... the trail from the campground to the beach.
Because when you see a log that looks like a chair you should sit on it.
Somewhere new for Cassia to explore at the end of the beach.
The next day just after lunch we got hail. We ended up with hail 6 times in a week!
But by our afternoon walk it was much better.
Meanwhile ... December 2018, Cassia and I were hard at work.
As were the dogs rolling in the sand. They like to do this but I don't have many pictures so thought to include one here.
And we were still in Texas around this time in December 2019. Here we are having fun where?
A craft brewery of course! This was Save The World Brewing Co. near Marble Falls.
The brewery was not too far from our next Texas State Park - Inks Lake. Again, it was our first time at this Park again we really liked it! We also had friends who we'd met through ALMS there - Teri and David.
We had a great site! We stayed a week - it was hard to leave.
The sunsets were amazing! As they often are in Texas.
The pie was amazing too!
Was that enough pictures? Or should I add a few more?! I always find it hard to leave any on the cutting room floor. But alas this is just a small sample.
Next time on West Coast Explorers - more beach shots!
Until then,
Teresa
Blue Bonnet Cafe I love that name! Pie looks amazing too! I do love certain parts of Texas!
